Trailblazer Endowed Scholarship
The Trailblazer Scholarship honors the legacy of four African American pioneers in the Lewis Community: Dr. Charles Kennedy, Kathleen Bolden, Elmer Sims and Charles Jones. The Trailblazer Scholarship honors the legacy of our Trailblazers and will support African American students in good academic standing with financial need who demonstrate a commitment to their community.
Eligibility requirements:
- black, full-time student with a GPA of 2.5
- judged in need of financial assistance by the Office of Financial Aid by completing a FAFSA
- demonstrate leadership in one or more Lewis University student organization(s)
- junior or senior
- Write a 300-word essay: “The Trailblazer Scholarship honors the life and legacies of four Lewis University Trailblazers. What trails do I intend to blaze in their honor?”
