The Ideal Candidate-Kevin Davenport Founder

Founder, Kevin Davenport is a Lewis University Alumni. Like most college students, he was stressing to pay the last $2,100 on his balance in order to walk the stage for graduation. He was in a position of not being able to find a job for a year and 1/2 after graduating with his Bachelor’s degree. Kevin is now a successful entrepreneur who had the vision for the non-profit organization and that is how The Ideal Candidate program. His generosity inspired the creation of the scholarship at Lewis University. His generosity and commitment to Lewis University is to pay what he has learned forward. The Ideal Candidate is an award winning nonprofit training academy that connects diverse talent to corporate partners. It is a program created to support Black and Latinx students that are in those same shoes every year. More college degrees, more jobs placed! The scholarship started Fall 2021.

In 2015, Kevin Davenport founded The Ideal Candidate, a 501©3, with the idea in mind to serve excelling students who are in their junior or senior year of high school by developing a code of conduct designed to build confidence and strengthening values critical to achieving success in today’s professional world. The organization dedicates their efforts to assisting certified students, following high school graduation, in finding scholarships and jobs, increasing the opportunity for employment and postsecondary education attendance.
